The contribution of zone quests to the overarching zone questline will vary. The one major flaw with Threads of Fate is that it does not expedite the leveling process. It allowed us, the player, to progress through the early stages of the covenant campaign reasonably quickly. In our testing, we were only able to acquire less than 300 anima in total, a minuscule amount compared to the amounts required throughout the game's remainder. The content itself will shift and change with each new World Quest, allowing players to change their content/leveling experience with time.Īs players level through each zone, they will receive both anima and renown currencies typically saved until the end-game. If they only wish to focus on dungeons, that is also viable. If someone wanted to level from 50 to 60 with only pet battles, Threads of Fate allows that. Threads of Fate is a flexible system in that it allows the players to pursue whatever arc they desire. Like many systems, the value is in the eye of the beholder. Their progress in the said zone will fill up a bar that will eventually get the player more potent weapons, almost one-third of a level in XP and Renown. However, the choice to switch to Threads of Fate is permanent and cannot be reset. Players can start down the linear questline for as long as they like, only to swap to Threads of Fate later on.
